There are a number of different ways I have worked with running clubs and other groups to help achieve these goals.
The Marathon Masterclass is a 1.5-2 hour talk and Q&A which covers: how to train for the marathon, tapering properly and getting the most out of yourself on race day itself. It is suitable for first timers and experienced marathon runners alike. Recent comments on the masterclass include "Fascinating, I wish we could have kept going for longer" and "Brilliant, even after running 12 marathons I learned so much".
A Flying Coach Session can be an evening or morning event, ideally carried out at a track or playing fields where we also have access to some indoor space (especially in winter) though I can work with just about location. The events are all designed to meet your club's specific needs and recent sessions have included: 'Improving your 10k performance'; 'Marathon Training Morning'; 'Injury prevention for road runners' and 'Summer 5k training evening'.
These are practical sessions which generally include waarm up drills, the main training session and cool down exercises as well as some explanation of what we are doing and why plus a Q&A afterwards. They are designed to work for a whole range of abilities and I've done the Marathon Session with 2.30 runners and 6 hour runners in the same session.
